Eligibility
1. A minimum of 10+2 with PCM as the subjects.
2. At least 50 percent marks in 12th standard.
3. The age limit to obtain commercial pilot licence is 18 to 30 years.
Physical Requirements
>Height
The minimum height to become commercial pilot is 5 feet.
>Eyesight
6/6 vision is required to become commercial pilot. Candidates are allowed to wear eyeglasses but no lasik operation. You are eligible for the course if your distance vision is correctable to 20/20 while near vision to 20/40 with eyeglasses.
>Other Requirements
1. You should not be suffering from any disease that can affect your performance.
2. You should be able to cope with pressure situation without emotional breakdown.
3. You should not have fears of height.
Procedure
Step 1 - Students Pilot Licence
The first thing you need to do is obtain the Student's Pilot Licence. You can apply for it as soon as you have completed 10th standard. The procedure include appearing for a basic Maths test in which the questions would be related to various aspects of the aircraft. If you managed to score 75 out of 100 marks, you will get the licence.
Step 2 - Private Pilot Licence
Your flying training would start now. You must complete 12th before applying for this licence. Then you will be given flying experience with instructor and solo. A total of 60 hours of flying experience would require. Apart from it you will have to appear for written test by the aviation watchdog DGCA.
Step 3 - Commercial Pilot Licence
This would be the last stage for your dream to fly a commercial plane. You would need at least 250 hours of flying experience. Additionally you will go through medical test by the DGCA and written exams for subjects like Air Regulations, Aviation Meteorology, Air Navigation.
Once you have obtained the Commercial Pilot Licence, you can apply for trainee co-pilot job at airlines in India. After few months you will become co-pilot for the airline.

The airport authority of India conducts examinations to select candidates in different managerial positions in the airports of India. The qualification criterion for attending the examination is a graduation. The candidate should have done his Bachelor's degree in general business or business administration. In addition, for getting good opportunities in the field, he should acquire a Master's degree in engineering, business administration or aviation management and it should be from a recognized university.
Who is eligible to apply?
To become an airport manager, one should have scored a sum total of 60% marks in engineering, aviation management or business administration degree. Otherwise, the aspirants should be postgraduates in mathematics, physics or computer science with 60% marks.
In addition, the candidate is required to have some personal skills and traits. Social proficiency, creativity, excellent communication skills, time management and capability to cope up in case of uncertainties are some required skills. It will be worthwhile having experience in the managerial field, before becoming an airport manager. One can do an internship in any airport nearby. In situations where internships are not available in airports, the aspirants can opt for any internship with any large business. Work experience in business management will be an added advantage in getting job as an airport manager.
