As an engineer you can join Flying, Engineering and ground duty branches. Indian Air Force publishes requirements in their Technical branches twice a year. You can apply against advertisement. IAF also conducts AFCAT for SSC to recruit officers in various branches. You are also eligible to become Pilot by appearing for CDS examination. Hi,
Basically, there are three branches in IAF:
1. Ground Duty Branches: - Administration, Finance, HR, Educational branches are under this branch. For All branches except finance, graduation with minimum 60% is the eligibility criteria. But for finance department, B.Com / M.Com is mandatory. Minimum marks should be 60%. Age: 20-26.
2. Engineering Branches: - Aeronautical engineering is the main branch. E&C, CSE, IT, A&I, EEE are other branches. Same age restrictions applicable here.
