Economics will help you gain a deep understanding in the concepts of micro and macroeconomics and various other facets of economy. In terms of career prospects, you can do Masters after BA.

Hi! B.A. (Honors) Economics is a very good course to pursue your graduation in. It will give you a broader understanding of the economy. Economics is a very interesting discipline to study and an important one as well. I have done economics honors and I am currently pursuing MBA. Importance of economics as a subject for managers is also very much stressed upon by my teachers. It is important to study economics at some point. Even better if it is during graduation.

There is no difference in both the programs. Moreover, same approximately 80-85 percentage and rest, the university can add extra subjects as per their guidelines or facilities to students. As per UGC guidelines, you will have to study complete course module of economics in any of the programme. All the best.

BA Economics is a pure art branch of knowledge. The course is studied as part of the Bachelor of Arts programme. On the other hand, B.Sc Economics is completed as part of the Bachelor of Science programme. This is one of the main differences between B.Sc Economics and BA Economics. B.Sc Economics have some additional subjects like mathematics and statistics when compared to BA Economics. There are practical sessions for students too in the field of applied Economics. This kind of practical sessions are absents in BA Economics.

Hello Saurabh,
For Economics, you should have Maths till class 12th, but it is not necessary to include it in BFS. One should have Maths either as additional subject (6th) or optional subject (5th).
And, yes Economics definitely should be included in BFS for Economics (H), else you will face deduction of some percentage from your BFS.
