Eligibility & Admission
The basic requirement for the eligibility to get the admission to BAMS programme is qualifying the 10+2 examination with science stream. The candidate must have the physics, chemistry and biology in 12th class. The candidate should have to go through the national level entrance examination like NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test). Candidates also apply for state level examinations such as:
OJEE (Odisha Joint Entrance Examination)
KEAM (Kerala Engineering, Agriculture and Medical)
GCET (Goa Common Entrance Test)
The selection of the candidate is based on the final merit as the sum of the total numbers obtained in the qualifying examination as 12th and the number scored in the entrance examinations.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery: Admission Process
Process of admission to the course may vary across institutes. Some institutes conduct their own entrance exams for selecting and admitting candidates, while some select students on the basis of their score at the 10+2 level alone, compulsorily completed with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects.

BHMS Admission Process
Admission to some of the top institutes for BHMS course is done through entrance exam. Candidates need to go through different entrance exams conducted at the national level and state level.
Candidates are selected based on marks obtained in the respective entrance exam which is followed by a round of Group Discussion and Personal Interview. With this, skills and abilities of candidates can be judged and he/she is shortlisted. Those candidates who have successfully cleared the entrance test can appear for 1st round of counselling and then 2nd round of counseling which may be held for those candidates who have their names in waiting list.

BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) is an undergraduate degree program in the medical field. This degree covers the medical knowledge of the homoeopathic system. After completing this degree, you are eligible to become a doctor in the homoeopathic medical field. Homeopathy is the system of alternative medicines. The patients are taken care by enhancing the natural healing power of the human body. The concept of homoeopathy is that the body rejuvenates itself because of its self-healing power. We just need to help it by enhancing the natural healing power.
Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is an integrated Indian degree in the medical field. This degree programme is conferred to those students who studied the modern medicines and traditional Ayurveda.
Ayurveda is one of the ancient medical systems of the world. It traces its roots to the Vedic period. It is not only providing the cure but also prevent the recurrence of diseases. According to the Ayurvedic, there are only three kinds of dysfunctions or disorders in human body Kapha, Pitta and Vata.

Graduation course in Ayurveda is called as BAMS or Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, while in Homeopathy it is called as BHMS or Bachelor of Homeopathic Medical and Surgery.
In Ayurvedic Medical Science, the students will be taught entire subjects that involve knowledge of this field, inclusive of modern science. In this course, the study load for students will be more as compared to MBBS and BHMS.
In BHMS, students will learn only some areas of modern science, while the other subjects will be mainly focusing on homeopathic medicines. When it comes to study load, it will be equal to MBBS or even slightly more as well. Here, it will be difficult for students to remember different medicines for different conditions as per homeopathic material medical.
Ayurveda remedies are mainly prepared with herbs and vegetables; animal materials are used rarely.
Homeopathy remedies use the essence of wide variety of plants, animals, synthetic substances and minerals.
