It depends from college to college. But the cutoff for B.A. Economics goes about 98 to 99 % every year. Besides there may be entrance exams for which eligibility criteria can be only 45 to 55%.

Yes, you can pursue hotel management after B.J. M. C. but it would be better to pursue other courses like management, HR, law etc. Hotel management is also good course but payscale can be very low at starting.

Few universities do offer Lateral Admission in which you can complete your Graduation in next 2 years because you would get the admission in 2nd year but few universities don't offer lateral Admission for Diploma Holders.
