The basic eligibility criteria for pursuing B.Sc (Hons. ) (Biotechnology) degree, is qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination with any three out of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics or Computer Science as subjects studied at intermediate level.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Candidate should have passed (10+2) or High School Senior Secondary exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Statistics/Botany, etc., by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any equivalent exam conducted by any State Board or equivalent.
2. He/She should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate.

The major advantage of doing a B.Sc Course in this subject is that the course duration is short, when compared to a BE /B.Tech Programme. B.Sc course takes 3 years to complete, whereas BE /B.Tech. Programme takes 4 years. Another advantage is relatively low saturation level in this field. From facts and figures, it is quite evident that B.Sc Biotechnology is not a very popular professional course among class 12th Science students.
