It depends on how receptive you are to it. It is however, the number one arts and Science College in India. They go up to the level of Ph.D and specialize in the Films and Semiconductors. so on and so forth, if you want the department to be good to you, you must too be good in return to it. Re-iterating, it depends on how open you are to receive from others.

Since universities offering undergraduate programme in Astronomy are rarely found, one can join for a major/ honours in Physics with Mathematics as a subsidiary subject. Thereafter, take a master's degree in Physics or Astronomy. After the successful completion of M.Sc. One can do specialisation in astronomy leading to Ph.D. which enables one to become an astronomer/ astronaut/ astrophysicist or a scientist/ research officer etc. In the field of space research. At least one have to score 50% marks. And there is no one who can predict the cut-off. Because it can vary every year due to diverse students coming for exams. Prepare well.
