Chances are less because cut-offs in a government colleges are pretty high (e.g 92% or above). But still, you can fill the form and wait for counselling. If you get selected.

There will be no problem in admission in NITs. If you drop for JEE, but if you are getting B.Sc. in DU or any other prestigious universities (specially govt.) then you should choose between B.Sc and dropping wisely. Please ask yourself a question that whether you are confidence about dropping or not and is it you who wants to an engineer or everybody else except you. Ask these two questions before dropping.
If you are confident enough then dropping is the best option for you.
