As I am a electronics and communications student and I am not flaunting my branch, but I feel it is one of the interesting branches of engineering. If you want to understand how tv transmission (such as tata sky or airtel) works or how the bands on your mobile sim works or 4g and 5g works. Plus as you have mentioned it has government jobs benefit, you can apply for IES DRDO and many more.

Yes, there are many job opportunities after doing BCS. The soul truth is degree of B.Tech (CSE) and BCS and MS, both are equivalent to each other. If you do BCS from a college like VIT, Vellore or Bhartiya Vidyapeeth, Pune. You will get good exposure as well.
