BTech admissions in Uttar Pradesh are based solely on JEE Main scores. Candidates are allocated seats through the UPTAC counselling process, which is conducted at the state level.

UPTAC, or Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission counselling, is an online state-level counselling process for admission to the first year of various programs, including BTech, BArch, BBA, BMS, BCA, BDes, BPharm, BHMCT, BFAD, BFA, BVoc, MBA, MBA (Integrated), MCA, MCA (Integrated), and M Tech (Integrated), as well as the second year (lateral entry) of BTech, BPharmacy, and MCA.
