IGNOU stands for Indira Gandhi National Open University. It is one of the oldest and most well-known institutes for distance education in India. It is the first national open university in India, founded in 1985. IGNOU offers hundreds of courses. You must have passed your 12th examination or equivalent in any stream from a recognised board examination with minimum 50% aggregate marks. Other options are also there like DU SOL, NCWEB, Online school by various universities like Manipal, Amity, Symbiosis, etc.

Candidates seeking admission to the BA (Hon) English programme must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria. The university scans applications and accept forms of only the eligible students. For this UG course, candidates who have passed Class 12 or equivalent pass with at least 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST) can apply. At the time of form filling and admission, the candidate must hold the pass certificate with them.
