The cut off for GATE depends on the institute and it varies every year.
And there are caste wise cut off marks too.
Generally for the top IITs, the cut off would be above 60/100.

You can study in a good university in USA depending on your under graduation performance and GRE scores. Also, you must build your profile, apart from studies take part in extracurricular activities, project work, etc.

Diploma: Class 10th cleared from a recognised board with minimum 40% marks.
Bachelor's Degree: Class 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks.
Post-graduation degree: Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 45% marks.
Graduate and PG programs may also require you to appear in entrance exams such as NCHMCT, AIMA UGAT, E-CHAT, etc.

All reputed hotel management colleges conduct entrance exam for admission in the course in their colleges.
Minimum eligibility for under graduate hotel management course:
10+2 cleared with English is compulsory or equivalent qualification.
Entrance Exam Pattern:
1. Numerical ability / Reasoning
2. General Knowledge
3. Aptitude for service sector
4. English
There will be around 200 questions in the entrance exam.
Duration of paper will be of 2/3 hours.
Duration of the course is 3 years.
