Not much percentage is expected in 12th class from student but yes, the student must clear the entrance examination for admission in good hotel institution.
All reputed hotel management colleges conduct entrance exam for admission in the course in their colleges.
Minimum eligibility for under graduate hotel management course:
10+2 cleared with English is compulsory or equivalent qualification.
Entrance Exam Pattern:

3. Aptitude for service sector
4. English
There will be around 200 questions in the entrance exam.
Duration of paper will be of 2/3 hours.
Duration of the course is 3 years.

Tourism Department: There are jobs as Reservation and counter staff, sales and marketing staff, tour planners and tour guides. There is also the requirement of Information assistants at the office of the Tourism departments who are selected through competitive examinations held by the Staff Selection Commission.
Airlines: One can opt between being the ground staff or in flight staff. Apart from working as Airhostess/ Stewards, you can look into the option of Traffic Assistance, Reservation and Counter Staff, etc.

Transport: Apart from airlines, travelers require rail services, coach operators, car hire companies to go from one place to another - by air, road, railway, sea, etc. All this is take care by the ones handling transport.
