Any degree is required to qualify for MBA admission along with valid score in MBA entrance examination.
You can become an investment banker if you pursue MBA in finance. As finance specialisation covers all aspects of financial field like banking, insurance,etc. You can become a one if a bank offers you.
You may do B.Com or BBA followed by MBA in Finance. If you do MBA from Tier I B-School and you have high analytical skills, you may get placement as Investment Banker.

Hi,
In any sector, promotion depends on your work quality. In many banks a person, who joined as an officer may reach to the position of general manager in 14 years. After that one can aspire for the position of executive director or chairman of a bank.

Graduation in first class (in aggregate) is the minimum criteria of a bank manager. A bank manager starts his/her career as a P.O. Few banks demand second class in graduation but it should be minimum 55% in aggregate.

To become an investment banker, only CFA/CFP recognition will help you. SFM will not help you as it is an important subject of financial engineering and will only help you to manage the projects of companies. So, you should either do CFA or CFP.

MBA is good because for getting managerial skills, it is best. But, M.Com is commonly targeted for teaching. You can go for MBA with specialization in finance.

At present, you can enter into the bank jobs by the following methods.
1. Through IBPS exam
IBPS is Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.
It is conducted 4 times in a year and the score card is valid for 1 year.
1. The eligibility criteria in graduation from recognized university and your age should be between 21-30 years.
2. You can apply in the private banks like ICICI, HDFC, CANARA, etc.
