In case you have had an exposure to mathematics in class 12,plus some education in programming,with an inherent APTITUDE for IT,You can go for it.

For B.C.A [3 Yr.]/ B.C.A(Hons.) [4 Yr.] and B Sc in IT the eligibility criteria is the completion of Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination with minimum 50 % marks in aggregate, and Mathematics from any state/central education board or equivalent.

Hi Anu,
If your main aim is to pursue MCA then opt for integrated MCA course as it will save your 1 year but if you are willing to pursue MBA or any other course apart from MCA then opt for BCA only.

you can do courses related with marine engineering . See generally after BCA students go for MCA . and in today's time you can go for job also.
Do only that course in which you are interested .

Hi Paras,
The minimum eligibility to opt for BCA is pass in 10+2 exam or passed in diploma, so in any case you have to complete your polytechnic first than opt for BCA.

Mentioned below is the examination pattern for BCA through IP university :
* Duration: 2. ½ hours
* Multiple Choice Questions would be asked
* Level of questions asked shall be as per the level of last qualifying examinations for admission to the programme(s) of studies.
Question paper pattern for BCA :-
English Language & Comprehension - 15%
Mathematics - 30%
Computer Awareness - 30%
General Knowledge-IT and Science Related - 25%
