Yes, as per the UGC norms, it is mandatory to qualify the NET exam to be eligible for lectureship in university or colleges, The NET exam is held for determination for assistant professor, for junior research fellowship and to pursue Ph.D. To be eligible for NET exam, you must fulfill all eligibility criteria for the exam. You must have completed the post-graduation degree with more than 55% marks. The age must be below 30 year for NET JRF, while no age limit for NET Lectureship.
