No, the students who have completed their 10+2 studies in any streams like arts, science, or commerce can apply for this course. Therefore, there is no compulsion on any subject. However, some colleges need that the students secure at least 50% marks in their Class 12 studies.

In India, there are more than 150 BJMC (Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication) colleges. Out of these arround 149 are private, 27 are public or government, and 7 are operated by public-private entities.
Some of the entrance exams for admission to the best BJMC colleges are CUET and IPU CET. Some of the top colleges in the country that provide BJMC programs are the Institute of Management Studies Noida, VIPS (Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies), and Jagannath Institute of Management Sciences, and many others.

The eligibilty criteria for BJMC needs that the candidates must pass their 12th or equivalent examination with 50-60% marks. The admission is also based on the entrance exam conducted by the Institution. Overall the candidate must score a good qualifying marks to get into the institution both in their 10+2 and the entrance exam held keeping the cutoff parameters in mind.
