Pursuing both these courses helps one in the growth of their career, in getting a better position and obtaining a bigger salary. PGDM is a Diploma course. MBA is a degree course offered by the colleges affiliated to the universities. It totally depends upon you. Decide on the basis of what you want to do. I'd suggest PGDM as there is a lot of experience and practical exposure.

Dear Friend,
I think something went wrong for you. Please check vastly. IIMs only accept CAT score & another one thing is full form of IIMC is Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. So, it is located in Kolkata not at Hyderabad.

At 50 percentile it will be difficult to get top tier colleges. You can look for one more attempt for CAT and other MBA entrance exam. At this score you may try for state engineering colleges MBA department. You can also look below link for this year colleges predictor-

No you need to prepare for GK as well. There is sectional cut off for GK in IIFT. Yes, preparation for CAT and IIFT is similar. You can check the syllabus for IIFT on below link
