You should choose MBA specialisation based on what you want to do in future. Or you can keep your mind and options open and choose electives as per the prof. who is teaching it. To go about choosing your specialisation, understand what each specialisation really demands and the kind of opportunities available. Also, irrespective of your specialisation, after a point of time in your career, you will be doing pretty much everything. Think of your short term, medium term, and long term plans (not concrete, but a fair idea) and then SEE if the specialisation will equip you with the desired skills. Marketing is indeed a very in-demand specialisation. It has become a trend now to have the best marketing team. Companies do look for candidates who posses those skills. The scope of marketing is also very broad. One can go into sales, advertisement, PR, product designing, DM etc. So, apart from what ranking it gets it is a must have subject that every business management student should know about.
