Current scenario:- It has been difficult now-a-days to get part time jobs within a university in USA, what people can do is ask for references of someone already working there. How you can take up a part time job:- University website has job listings I. e. for on campus jobs, Other like student union groups can help you, also Facebook and social media platforms are used as sources of job in USA. What kind of jobs are available:- University has librarian posts vacant for students and it is difficult one to grab, many fast-food chains run on campus which offer you waiter/waitress roles, boutique shops, if some talent then hair dressing is an option, toilet cleaners posts are available or inside a restaurant to clean dishes. Be prepared for everything once you plan to go USA. What you need to do to grab these roles:- Prepare a resume as you do for interviews but this resume shouldn't highlight just your grades but many extra curricular activities. Try to highlight your student involvement in some companies or previous college. As the part time job profiles are somewhat B grade according to Indian mindset but they grab you good money for your rent, so focus on highlighting your achievements in group activities or any particular skill which can help you in performing that job ; example:- if you show that you have completed various consignments, it will reflect your gentle behaviour of dealing with client which means you are good at dealing with people thus they hire you as waiter. Waiter job is the best to do part-time as you get lot of cash in terms of tips, believe me that cash is equivalent and more than enough to buy any the latest apple products there.
