In most of the courses like medical or engineering, college counseling is engaged so that a student can know about the various courses offered by different colleges where he or she can pursue his/her career confidently. Usually a lot of colleges participate in counseling and a particular college engages counseling on behalf of other colleges. So, in counseling a student fills his or her preferred choices of college and a course.
Let me give an example like for engineering in India, IITs engage counseling every year so that a student can fill his/her college choices. We have around 16 IITs, so he/she is given preference of colleges in descending order. Then there are around 20 -25 courses offered by the college.

Both careers have a good scope, but what matters is your interest.
For BDS:
Dentistry has a lot of scope globally inclusive India. The thing is that what are you going to do with BDS later?
The only thing you need to have is good reputed the institution with a high calibre staff (as in private colleges) and good patient input in the institute (as in government colleges).

Well, you can go abroad as well to pursue higher education or else you can give exams prescribed by the country you want to go to and continue your practice. This affair can be a bit expensive and gruelling.
So if you want to settle in the USA for whatever reason there are few states which allow Master's degree for international dentists. But to get into those programmes there is no known criteria and also you have to go to every state dental association website then to every university website and check out the programmes.
Even after that, those dentists will be allowed to work only in certain states.
If you are looking to go for just studies and then return to India, a lot of universities have programmes like esthetic dentistry and implant dentistry but you will not get a license to practice there in the USA.
For BPT:
Students who have completed their basic degree in Physiotherapy will get jobs according to their ability in the home country as well as abroad. Those candidates who complete their education from abroad have a greater chance of getting jobs in their home country with high salary and are highly in demand by the industry.
There are various employment areas in which the students with graduation in physiotherapy can start their career. Some of the available employment areas for BPT students are listed below:
