No, to become a business analyst, it is not mandatory to have an MBA. However, you should, at least, have a bachelor's degree in a related area, e.g., business management, finance, economics, or information technology. Some BA work positions may prefer or require a master 's degree, especially for higher or more specialized-level positions. In short, while not necessarily required, an MBA can be useful, particularly for individuals who are interested in pursuing careers in a leadership or strategy position within business analysis.
