Hi,
There are many jobs available for Chemistry students in different government sector companies.
To apply for a job, you need to fulfill the criteria and qualify the exam conducted by the different government authorities. Unfortunately, no one can tell you how a job could be, you have to experience it for yourself.
1) Central Government Jobs :
Several exams are conducted by various government agencies for filling various posts available in Central Government sector.
- You can apply for the Scientific Assistant post in the labs of Defense Research Development and Organization (DRDO), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC).
- You can apply for Common Defense Exam conducted by UPSC. Another exam conducted by UPSC for graduates is Indian Administrative Services (IAS).
- You can also apply for the Combined Graduate Level Exam conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
- You can even apply for the Assistant Central Intelligence Officer exam conducted by Ministry of Home Affairs.
2) Public Sector Banking Jobs :
Several banks in public sector are conducting exams every year for recruiting graduates to the post of Probationary officers. You can apply for this test to get a job in Public Sector Banks.
3) Jobs in Indian Railways :
There are several jobs available in Railway sector. You need to qualify the exam conducted by Railway Recruitment Board for various posts. You can apply for the Assistant Station Master exam conducted by Railway Recruitment Board. You can also apply for the Depot Material superintendent exam conducted by Railway Recruitment Board.
4) Teaching Profession in Government Sector :
- As a B.Sc Chemistry graduate, you can apply for teacher post in several government college and schools.
- You can apply for Lecturer Applied Science (Chemistry) and Lecturer in Chemistry posts in various government colleges.
- You can also apply for Post Graduate Teacher post in various government schools.

CFA:
CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) is the certification provided by CFA Institute. The exam is categorized into 3 levels, based on the level of difficulty of the exam. The level-1 exam is held twice a year, whereas, level-II and level-III are held only in June.
The CFA exam essentially tests your fundamental knowledge in finance domain. Anyone having a graduate degree is eligible to appear for the exam. People having degrees in domains other than finance are also eligible. These days engineers, doctors, MBA graduates who want to make their career in risk management or investment banking opt for this exam. A lot of business schools and firms also give preference to candidates who already have certifications.
Often, candidates who want to pursue Masters in finance, go for both CFA program charter and MBA.
CFA certification is recognized worldwide by the investment banks and firms in financial services domain. Qualifying CFA program can certainly help candidates seeking a career in finance and risk management field. Students also go for CFA program charter even post MBA or while doing MBA. Passing all the 3 levels could take about 3 years, to appear for each level in each year. Preparation for the exam could be pretty rigorous and demanding if you are from a non-finance background.
