There are many courses that you can opt for after 12th. B.Tech and MBBS are all time favorites but then life doesn't stop here only. You have various other good options available.
If you are interested in pursuing a course in Science you can go for various B.Sc like physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, maths, etc. Other than these you have specialized ones like biotechnology, biochemistry, microbiology, forensic, agriculture, food technology, computer science, etc. Apart from these you have honors courses too. You can also go for paramedical courses like Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Ayurveda, etc.
Other than Science stream, you can have a career in Journalism, Film and TV production, management, hotel management, fine arts, performing arts, physical education, yoga, etc. too.

BPT stands for Bachelor of Physiotherapy. It is a 4 years long undergraduate Degree course. The field of physiotherapy is also known by the name of physical therapy. Students who have cleared 12th science stream biology group (physics, chemistry and biology subjects) from a recognized board are eligible to pursue this course.
Whereas, BOT stands for Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. It is a job oriented undergraduate course. BOT medical course is based on the field of Occupational Therapy. The course duration is 4 years and on completion, leads to a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy. Occupational Therapy deals with patients having physical, mental, emotional and neurological limitations. It aims at improving the life, condition and rehabilitation of such handicapped and limited people through different modes of treatments. Science stream Biology Group (PCB subjects) students, who have cleared 12th science board examination from a recognized board are eligible to pursue this course.

Some of the important parameters you should consider are:
Interest: Before selecting a career, it's advisable to start taking an inventory of the things that interest you in terms of work. Start by taking a look at the things you do well and compare them to work you've done in the past to identify key skills that can be used in a new career.
Evaluate your skills: Everyone has unique talents that can be used in a career of some type. Please list the ones which you have.
Attitude: Whether many people realize it or not, how they feel about work can have an effect on the types of careers that they eventually find themselves in. So, make your choice thoroughly.
Training and Education: In order to land certain careers, an industry expected level of training and education is a general requirement. So, that criteria should also be taken in mind.
Availability of Jobs: when choosing a career, a big factor is how many jobs will be available at certain levels. If you are a new graduate or are trying to switch careers mid-life, this can be a determining factor as to what type of work you settle on.

Biophysics is slowly emerging field in India and it still needs a lot of development on experimental, theoretical and computational fronts. There are lots of institutes currently focusing on these developments:
Molecular Biophysics Unit (IISc): This department was setup by Dr. G. Ramachandran and its one of the fastest developing Unit in IISc. It's a good mix of scientists both in experimental, theory and experiments. National Center of Biological Sciences is also a great place to pursue career in the area of biophysics.
Apart from India, many universities in USA are focusing (investing) a lot in the area of biophysics to name some John Hopkins, MIT, Stanford and UIUC. They have great set of faculties focusing in this area. I think, in coming years it will be in high demand.
