Because I'm unsure what exactly your definition of bright future is, I would suggest you do some research to narrow down the field you want to work in. IT, e-commerce, marketing, and finance are all viable options for you. Also, take a look at jobs that have become more popular in India in the last few years. You should also consider if entrepreneurship is a possibility in your future.
In some fields (real estate, web development, computer support, etc.), it is possible that you don't need a degree to pursue a particular career and a certification/diploma will suffice.

To choose the branch, first preference should be given to your personal interest about the field and the subject like in which you've more interest. If you are interested in computers, then obviously, you should go for computer engineering. If you have interest on machines then mechanical engineering is the best bet for you.
Next factor is market condition. Present market condition trends of engineering students towards ECE, CSE, Civil, etc.
