Business intelligence is definitely a field with huge potential and demand. Since you are quite young and not facing a career shift, you can afford to invest in a degree if you are serious about pursuing Data Analytics and BI.
Of course, developing programming skills and familiarizing yourself with data mining, machine learning, etc. can be done independently but there are courses that will combine them to give you a comprehensive understanding of the analytics world. You can also take this BI education a step further into management with courses like management in business analytics. Because I'm unsure what exactly your definition of bright future is, I would suggest you do some research to narrow down the field you want to work in. IT, e-commerce, marketing, and finance are all viable options for you. Also, take a look at jobs that have become more popular in India in the last few years. You should also consider if entrepreneurship is a possibility in your future.
In some fields (real estate, web development, computer support, etc.), it is possible that you don't need a degree to pursue a particular career and a certification/diploma will suffice.

It is a management college in Bangalore but also offers pre university courses, humanities and culinary arts degrees along with business and commerce degrees. Salary is a function of various factors:
(I) The institute where you have completed your B.Tech + M.Tech. E.g. a graduate from a top institute will command higher salary.
(II) Your work experience - organization and type of work profile.
(III) City - a metropolitan city will have higher salaries as compared to smaller cities and towns.
(IV) Your current organization, i.e. where you will be joining. An MNC usually pay higher salaries as compared to other organizations.
(v) Your work profile i.e. Manager/ AVP, etc.
Thus, one cannot allocate a figure.

To choose the branch, first preference should be given to your personal interest about the field and the subject like in which you've more interest. If you are interested in computers, then obviously, you should go for computer engineering. If you have interest on machines then mechanical engineering is the best bet for you.
Next factor is market condition. Present market condition trends of engineering students towards ECE, CSE, Civil, etc.
Third and most important factor is the college you get in to. Like if you qualify for IIT, then whatever stream you get there, you will never miss it irrespective of your interest and liking. In some colleges, you would like to study CSE (like UTM Shillong, BIT Ranchi are known for CSE) and while in other, you may find petroleum as the most sought after branch (Like UPES). So college faculty, placements are also considered while making selection.
