There are 4 sections in CAT exam i.e. quantitative aptitude, verbal ability, logical and analytical reasoning and data interpretation. It is always advisable to join a coaching that prepares students to crack CAT exam with high percentile and they also gives you study materials and take exams for better preparation of yours. Preparation of all the sections well is the only key.I hope you are satisfied with this answer, if you want to know more about it please let me know.
Have a good day.

It is difficult to predict CAT score based on MAT score as the difficulty level of both exams are different. Based on your MAT score, it looks you are not prepared well for CAT and you need to work on your preparation strategy.

Yes, it is very well possible to score good in CAT. Suggest practice more and more of reading comprehensions, quantitative ability and verbal ability questions. Try to take as many tests as possible. Generally graduation cut off in B-schools is 50%(IIM-A has 50%).

Check out this link for previous year's cutoff according to colleges -

At 90 percentile you can apply for BIM-Trichy, GIM-Goa , IFMR-Chennai and few others, but these are some good colleges. IFMR is known for Finance among corporate and it is at par with IIMs with 100% placement record. GIM-Goa is having good past track record and BIM-trichy is upcoming with disciplined study culture and decent placement record.

It is an unfair practice, but is prevalent practice in Indian B-schools. The students have no choice but to apply to maximize their chances of getting admission in high ranking B-school.
