Yes, CAT is an important exam to get into Iims for MBA. It is the only exam to get into MBA course for IIMS. IIMS gives weightage to class 10- class 12th percentage + CAT percentile + What/PI performance + any work experience for selecting a candidate. There are many other colleges which consider CAT scores to offer admissions. Check the below link-

Hello,As per the basic eligibility criteria, candidates who have completed graduation degree with 50% marks are eligible to apply for CAT. Also, candidates in final year/semester are eligible. A relaxation of 5% marks is awarded to candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories. There is no restriction on age or number of attempts.

You have good chances of getting into the old IIMs as you have a great academic record. You have to score 95 percentile (overall) and has to get more than 90 percentile in each section to clear the cut-offs. You can also check it on Shiksha's IIM call checker.

There is a high chance of getting calls from most of the IIMs in this case. You can still use the following link for better prediction depending on your past school and college.

Hi,
No, clearing the minimum criteria doesn't guarantee a call. It depends on one's overall profile, 10th, 12th marks, work experience, etc.

Hello,
You are having good score in your education. IIMs consider 5 to 10% weightage from your previous education score so you need to prepare well for CAT exam to get IIM. According to last cut-off, you need to score above 90.
