After you have submitted your CAT application form, there is no need to apply for the IIMs separately. But for the private colleges offering MBA, you have to separately apply for each of them. Except for the IIMs you need to apply for each of the colleges separately.

CAT is a gateway to GATE. Basically, CAT is actually based on mathematics, English and analytical
skills, whereas, GATE is based on depth knowledge about engineering subjects.
So, write whichever you like.

Sorry, but without an entrance, you will never ever get a good college. As thing which is worthy never comes easily. Do not try to buy it, otherwise, your huge investment may backfire at you.

Hi Bhavani,
No problem, dropout students can also appear for CAT exam and can get selected in IIMs. The eligibility criteria for CAT are:
1. Completed Bachelor's degree with the required percentage of marks (50% Marks).
2. Completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) with required percentage.
3. Should be in the final year of Bachelor's degree with required percentage. For more details please check this link: https://iimcat.ac.in/per/g01/pub/756/ASM/WebPortal/1/PDF/CAT_Eligibility_2016.pdf
Hope this helps. Thank You.

Check the relevant cutoff list. I guess you also have to qualify GD/PI to get a final convert in IIMs.

Sorry, but it will be quite difficult for you to get into IIM-A and B. As C doesn't have a graduation criteria (i.e. zero weightage to graduation score) it would be your best shot. Additionally, I would not suggest you to go to any of the IIMs as then you would be competing for jobs with the best profiles of the country, and this might dilute your profile and competition. But, it is your choice at the end.
