It's good to see your awareness and seriousness towards cracking a management entrance exam so early. Still, in the first year, there is ample time for you. You can start improving your vocabulary by reading good novels/books and newspapers daily(especially the editorial columns). Solving some good logical puzzles and related questions will also help in keeping your mind fit and sharp. Nothing much needed to do for Maths, as of now. just ensure your basic concepts are strong. 1-1.5 hours is quite sufficient to prepare for the time being.

The eligibility criteria of the Common Admission Test or CAT refers that any MBA aspirant who has completed or appeared in the Bachelor's degree final examination with minimum 50 percent aggregate are eligible to appear for the test.

Yes, you can apply for GATE 2018. As per GATE 2018 eligibility criteria, a candidate who is currently in the final year or already completed is eligible for GATE exam. So if you clear your 4-year engineering degree within 4 years i.e., in 2018. You are eligible for GATE 2018 exam. There would be no effect of backlog(s) at any stage of your GATE exam.
The eligibility criteria for CAT 2017 are mentioned below:

Yes, you can this will definitely help you to go through the paper pattern and will also help you to get with your strength and weak areas in the exam make sure you study for the exam thoroughly and not just give it for sake of just clearing it.

CAT 20917 is likely to be held in Dec 2017. Admission notification is expected in Aug 2017. Fee based on last years data is Rs. 1700 for General/ NC-OBC category and Rs. 850 for SC/ ST/ PWD/ DA category students.

Hello,
To get admission into any good college for MBA in India, you have to give one or the entrance exams(whose score is accepted by that college), clear all the necessary cutoffs and perform well in the interview rounds(if shortlisted for it). P.S. There are no good colleges for pursuing MBA in Patna.
