Instead of re-exam for class 12th, if you want you can make use of your class 10th mark sheet and take any Diploma course. After completing the Diploma, you can join any course or even go for B.Tech too.

You can do B.Sc and look for aviation training, if interested. It costs around Rs.60 lakhs in India to get commercial pilot license. You can also write CDSE exam to join military. You can also try NDA after class 12th.

You are not eligible for JEE Mains 2017 as the minimum criteria is 75% in class 12th.

If he is interested in some technical work like electrical, electronics or mechanical, he can go for polytechnic Diploma course which also includes fashion designing.

I dont think that coaching is important. But I seriously think that practice is very important. The more questions you solve, better are your chances of getting into IIM. If you can do that on your own. I dont think you need coaching. However if you need to bring discipline, then you can take some coaching.
