Concentrate more on general aptitude, this will be quite easy to score more. Don't get stuck with the unknown questions and concepts, have a look on almost all categories of question paper and choose the section that you will excel. Practice more with the solved and previous, year question paper. How to Crack GATE Chemical Engineering. You can go for chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, electrical or electronics. I will not recommend CSE because in India they do not teach any industrial related content like android, PHP, IOS, or Python. They only teach 10% percent of Java and Dot net. You have to learn these languages from private. IT companies don't care about your engineering degree, they recruit any engineering graduate with the knowledge related to the IT industry. If you are looking for campus recruitment then also you have to clear their aptitude test and PI. In PI they just test your leadership quality.

The criteria is that you must have completed your class 12th with 60% aggregate and 75% to 85% in your honors subject (Zoology, botany and chemistry). Zoology honors need 60% marks in chemistry.
