Cinematography, the art and technology of motion-picture photography. It involves such techniques as the general composition of a scene; the lighting of the set or location; the choice of cameras, lenses, filters, and film stock; the camera angle and movements; and the integration of any special effects. Film production is the intricate process and art of creating a movie from start to finish with a team of professionals. Film production is the first of three stages a movie will typically go through. Before a film is distributed or exhibited, it needs to be created through this multi-stage process involving scriptwriting, planning, shooting, and other elements of filmmaking before finally making it to editing.
