Well, you haven't asked about a specific programme, but since you tagged engineering, So, I will consider you as an Engineering aspirant. There are two points here to be noted:
1) If you have more than 90% aggregate marks in 12th class, then LPU NEST exam will be exempted.
2) If you have less than 90% aggregate marks then you will have to appear in an exam of LPU NEST. Where as eligibility criteria is that candidate must have 60% aggregate marks in 12th class and English must be studied as a subject.
3) Thus, if any candidate will be having less than 60% aggregate marks, he will not be eligible to take Admission in B.Tech. The eligibility criteria for KVPY 2020 (a) Stream SA: Students enrolled in the XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2020-21 and having secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and Science subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the X Standard Board Examination. In the Stream-SA all questions are compulsory (Science and Mathematics). In respect of the stream SX (Students enrolled in 12th), there will be four sections in Part I (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics) and four sections in Part II (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics). Candidates may answer any THREE of the four subjects in Part I and any TWO of the four subjects in Part II. In case candidate attempts more sections, best of three in Part I and best of two in Part II is considered. So from above if you are enrolling in 11th during the academic year 2020-21, you have to give all papers of Science and Mathematics. But if you are enrolling in 12th than you have the option for subjects selection between Mathematics and Biology.
