This college establishment in 1951 is affiliated to Anna University. As a result all admissions are now based on marks obtained in 12th exam. In addition the college has very high reputation and students prefer this to many other colleges. Due to this cutoffs is very high. But marks scored by students in class 12th show very wide variation and hence I am afraid it is not feasible to quite any figure. However, I will definitely say that you should aim for 80 and above percentile. Best wishes to you.

Apply for NIFT, get good rank and chose preferences of NIFT College near you like Chennai or Bengaluru. You can also apply CEED or NID for M.Des. There is one more college in Chennai which is good-DJ acedemy of art and design.

Admission is through counseling based on the rank obtained in MHCET 2018/ JEE (Mains).

I hope you are talking about this college only. For getting Diploma in Marine Engineering, IMUCET is not required. It is because this exam is fundamentally to screen candidates for admission in Engineering College leading to degree of Marine Engineering.
