Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Allahabad, which was established in 1999, is a recognised university and is, in fact, a government college. IIIT Allahabad is recognised by the Government of India as an 'Institute of National Importance' and is recognised by the AICTE. Admission to NIT Allahabad accepts admission to the MCA course through the NIMCET entrance test. The exam is conducted every year specifically for admission to MCA courses at NITs. Candidates are shortlisted and seat allotment is carried out based on the aspirant's score in the entrance examination.
