PES College of Engineering is not considered the best in Karnataka. The top engineering colleges in Karnataka are generally considered to be National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NIT Surathkal), Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), and Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIT Bangalore).
