MSI has a faculty which is diverse too. You will find teachers to be really good at their subjects.
But, one thing they all have in common is that they all encourage you to take part in activities and organize events. They will guide you in any way possible and most of them are really cooperative too.

1st shift offers you more time in hand. You have a lot of time to roam around, pursue a hobby, go back and relax, study- in short, anything you wish to do
2nd shift, there is no time for any other activity or usual outings after college, until and unless you've permission to enter your home late. The rules are stricter in 2nd shift. More discipline, more stress over attending not-so-useful labs, higher attendance criteria. But then, there's absolutely no difference or biasing on the basis of difference in shifts
