Mode of instruction of the LLM programme at GNLU is full-time. In this one-year PG programme, the emphasis shall be on wholesome legal education whereby theoretical inputs are blended with the practical application of the same. The curriculum shall be framed in a way to enable critical thinking and an in-depth understanding of various legal principles so as to prepare the graduate for diverse career opportunities in academia, practice, and the public sector. Continuous evaluation and interactive sessions will also form part of further enrichment of learning among LLM students at GNLU.

Admission to the LLM programme at Gujarat National Law University is done through the CLAT PG entrance exam. The candidates need to appear for the exam and qualify for the same. Admission shall be strictly based on merit as per the marks secured in the CLAT PG exam. Candidates must fulfil the cut-off criteria as prescribed by the university. Upon selection, the candidates must participate in the CLAT PG counselling process to confirm their enrollment in the LLM programme at GNLU.

Admission to the LLM course at Gujarat National Law University requires the candidates to have passed their LLB or equivalent bachelor's degree in law. They must have secured a minimum aggregate of 50% from a recognized university. Candidates also completed their Class 12 from a recognised board with at least 45% aggregate. The different specialisations for the LLM course provided by GNLU, such as Corporate and Business Law, Sports Law, Criminal and Security Law, amongst others. Admission to the LLM course at GNLU is done based on the merit list of CLAT PG conducted at the national level. However, the tuition fee for the LLM programme ranges from INR 1.2 to INR 6 lakh, depending on the course specialisation.
