Yes, Indian students are required to take an aptitude test dMAT (Digital Master's Admission Test).

The dMAT is not directly taken by TUM, but it is a mandatory component for getting an APS certificate. 

Please note that, dMAT is only required if you are applying for PG courses in Engineering, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Business or Management. 

For the Humboldt University of Berlin admissions, Indian students are required to have a minimum GPA of around 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale which is above 80% in the Indian grading system. 

Some highly competitive courses may also require a 1.5 GPA or higher. The HU Berlin application needs to be sent via the Uni-Assist portal.

For most of the Bachelor's courses, the teaching language is German. But, for some of the Master's courses, the language of instruction is English. The German language proficiency varies as per the course. Usually, B1 / B2 / C1 / C2 equivalent level of German is required. The test that may be submitted are Goethe Certificate, TestDAF, DSH, etc. 

English language test scores such as TOEFL iBT / IELTS are also required for some of the courses where language of instruction is English. 

There is no tuition fee at the University of Rostock. Students have to pay a semester fee each semester. The semester fee at this university is EUR 333 or INR 37 k. Indian students will also have to pay the living expenses. For one month, the living expenses in Rostock could be around INR 1 lakh.

The Deutschlandstipendium programme provides support to outstanding international students at the Uni of Rostock. The scholarship amount is EUR 300 per month (Around INR 33k). One half of the scholarship is offered by the private sponsors and other half is financed by Federal Government. 

For studying a German-language Bachelor's degree program, you need to have at least German language skills at B-1 level, whereas for the German-language master's programme for the 2026/27 winter semester at RPTU, you must have German language proficiency at least at the A-2 level (Certificate must not be more than 1-year-old). The university offers German coachings for international students to adapt to the new environment and understand German culture better.
