NIELIT provides Protsahan Puraskar Scheme (erstwhile Scholarship Scheme) for SC/ST/physically handicapped and female students pursuing NIELIT O/A/B/C level courses. Students pursuing a course from NIELIT Gorakhpur must meet the below criteria for scholarship:
- The scholarship is valid for SC/ST/PwD and Female candidates pursuing O/A/B/C level Courses of the NIELIT (DOEACC) as a full-time course via an institute authorised to conduct the NIELIT (DOEACC) accredited courses
- One must clear the papers in the first attempt
- The income of the student's parent from all sources should not be more than INR 2.50 LPA

Admission to O and A Level courses is based on NIELIT Entrance Exam scores. GATE is considered for admission to M.Tech programme of NIELIT. However, aspirants can apply for M.Tech even without GATE by providing institute or university level exam scores. The instiute conducts NIELIT Entrance Exam for O and A Level courses.
