The MDI only accepts the CAT entrance exam for all Indian citizens and foreign students can apply for GMAT
There is no sectional cut-off for the GMAT exam.
GMAT Exam cut-off varies depending on the difficulty level, number of candidates writing the exam, seat vacancies, average scores, and more. The total GMAT score ranges from 200-800, and based on an average estimate, two-thirds of the candidates sitting for the GMAT exam obtain a score of 400 to 600.

Yes, you can apply for MDI separately, since direct admissions are open there. They require a valid CAT or GMAT score for admission eligibility.
