Direct admission to Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya (GKV) is not possible for most programs since the university insists that the candidate qualify in specific entrance exams. Undergraduate courses rely more on CUET-UG scores for admission. B.Tech aspirants have to appear for JEE Main. For postgraduate courses, valid scores in CUET-PG are mandatory. Scores from tests such as CAT, MAT, or CMAT are required for MBA admissions. Admission through some means is limited, but merit-based selection and performance in the entrance examination usually take the front seat in the whole process.

The highest package for the B.Tech course at Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya was 8.52 LPA in the year 2023. While the highest package for MBA was 7.2 LPA, that for BBA was 5.82 LPA. This University has been doing its best to have placement opportunities increase. Quite a few companies have joined in the recruitment drives. Despite this, most students are still reported to go unplaced, and the job market is competitive; hence, there is a need for improvement in placement support and industry connections at GKV.
