Himachal Pradesh National Law University offers courses such as BA-LLB (Hons), BBA-LLB (Hons), LLM at UG and PG levels. The university also offers PhD programme. Candidates looking forward to practising law in India, are required to clear the All India Bar Exam (AIBE) that is conducted by BCI. On passing the AIBE exam, lawyers are awarded a ‘Certificate of Practice’ which is mandatory for practising the profession as an advocate in India.

The Scholarship Cell conducts an orientation programme on the different scholarships available to all first-semester students at the start of every academic year. Students can opt for Merit-cum-Means scholarship offered by the university or state or central government scholarships.

Besides, NLU Shimla conducts an entrance exam for PhD admission. Candidates fulfiling both eligibility and selection criteria are offered admission in the university.
