IITs generally do not offer lateral entry into the second year after a diploma. To study B.Tech at IIT Bombay, diploma holders must appear for JEE Advanced after qualifying JEE Main and meet the required eligibility criteria. Admission is granted only to the first year through JoSAA counselling. Diploma students can also explore other reputed universities that provide lateral entry opportunities into engineering programs.
