Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree (BA/ BCom or other degrees) or a four-year BA, BS, BTech or an earlier postgraduate degrees such as MA, MSc, etc. with a minimum of 60% aggregate for GN/ EWS/ OBC (NC) and 55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD can apply for MA by Research. Aspirants shall keep the documents for verification ready at the time of admission as well.

Yes, GATE score is required to get admission to IIT Bombay course. However, aspirants who have not qualified GATE can also get admission based on written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted candidates are further called for a personal interview round. In order to be eligible to apply for the course, an aspirant must have a BE/ BTech/ BSc/ Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning/ MSc/ MCA/ MBBS/ MPharm/ BPharm/ BDS/ degree recognised equivalent to BE/ BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD category) earned through Associate Membership Examinations conducted by recognised professional bodies to apply for MTech course.

Yes, IIT Bombay offers admission to MBA course on the basis of candidates' performance in the CAT entrance exam, followed by WAT and PI round.The institute releases two types of CAT cutoffs, namely the qualifying CAT cutoff and the final CAT cutoff. IIT Bombay B.Tech admission is based on JEE Advanced Cutoff ranks. The IIT Bombay JEE Advanced Cutoff 2025 has been out for Round 1 seat allotment results, for admission to various B.Tech courses. For 2023, cut off was 2694 for General category candidates in All India quota for B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering in IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 4647 was the closing rank. B.Tech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.

IIT Bombay admission is based on JEE Advanced scores followed by the JoSAA Counselling. In order to be eligible for JoSAA Counselling candidates must appear for JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced. 

The dates for JoSAA counselling 2026 choice filling will be announced once the result of JEE Main 2026 is declared. Candidates can fill choices only during the choice filling period. Also, candidates need to lock their choices before the last date.
