The placements at IIT Kharagpur for Civil Engineering is seen very best. Almost around 95 to 100% every year. This credit goes to training and Placement Cell department of IIT Kanpur.
The average package is around 6 to 8 lakhs here.
Civil Engineering is among the evergreen fields of Engineering.

If you are taking up the branch of manufacturing science and engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur just because you are not eligible for getting any other branches in the same college then one thing is sure that you will end up with a minimum placement of around 7 to 9 lacs, in some of the corporate companies, IT firms that show up for the placement drive in the college.
Although if manufacturing science engineering really excites you and you are passionate about the branch then you might consider pursuing the same at the college.

Both are the top-notch colleges for CSE, but for being an IIT, I will favor IIT-KGP as it is much better.
