The university reserved a total number of seats for BTech students, i.e., 1,254. Majority of seats are reserved for BTech in Lateral Entry, i.e., 234. As per data available, the BTech seats are reserved for ten specialisations.

No, the university does not offer direct admissions for BTech course. However, students who have qualified GIETEE exam are eligible to take admission in BTech course at GIET University. However, the candidate’s DOB should fall on and after 1997 to apply for GIETEE.

The admission will be only on the basis of the marks secured in the GIETEE-, conducted by GIET UNIVERSITY. The candidates who have secured valid JEE Main rank are also eligible for taking part in the counselling process as 50% of the total seats are reserved for JEE Main/OJEE candidates. Students who have not appeared for the GIETEE/JEE Main/OJEE are not qualified for admission. Short-listed candidate based on their entrance examination rank and will be called for the counselling.

At GIET University, the BTech course is a three-year and lateral entry is a four-year programme. The programme falls under the School of Technology and the candidate must meet the last qualifications. Students can visit the official website to apply for the entrance test, i.e., GIETEE. GIET Engineering Entrance Examination usually conducts from 18 Apr to 27 May for Computer Based Exam. The paper based examination will be conducts on 19 May & 26 May. The duration of the entrance examination is two hours. This is to note that, the dates mentioned here is to give an overall idea of the entrance exam. The dates may vary further.

The university conducts it's own entrance test called GIETEE for BTech course at GIET Gunupur University. Candidates appearing for the GIETEE should have secured an aggregate of 45% in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology in the class 12 examination.
