Centralized Common Counselling for MSc and MSc (Tech) 2025 ( CCMN )

CCMN 2026 counselling is expected to commence in May 2026. The authority will release the CCMN notification 2026 on the website, ccmn.admissions.nic.in. Students who have a valid score in IIT JAM 2026 can participate in the CCMN counselling process. The counselling process comprises registration, payment of registration fee, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting to the assigned institute. CCMN 2026 counselling dates will soon be announced online. 

Centralized counselling for M.Sc / M.Sc (Tech) admission is a counselling platform for the candidates who appeared for Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM). Through this portal, students get admission to NITs, IIEST Shibpur and some CFTIs. Candidates can check the article for detailed information on CCMN 2026.

What is CCMN?

CCMN stands for Centralized Common Counselling for MSc and MSc (Tech) admissions at NITs and CFTIs. The CCMN counselling process is conducted based on IIT JAM scores. Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat is conducting the CCMN counselling this year. There are multiple rounds of counselling being conducted to take admission through the JAM score card. The CCMN-2026 counselling is for full-time seats carrying scholarships. It is NOT for students seeking admission to Sponsored Seats or part-time programmes, for which students should contact the respective institutes for the same.

CCMN 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The CCMN 2026 eligibility criteria for participating in the counselling process:

  • Candidates must have appeared for the IIT JAM 2026 and have a valid score

  • Candidates belonging to General, General-Economically Weaker Section (Gen-EWS) and OBC categories should have passed BSc or an equivalent course with at least 6.5 CGPA or 60 per cent aggregate and those belonging to reserved categories (SC, ST, PWD) should obtain 6.0 CGPA or 55 per cent aggregate

  • Candidates in the final year of their qualifying degree are also eligible to apply, provided they submit the final mark sheet.

  • For certain programmes in a few Participating Institutes, special eligibility criteria are applicable

  • The candidates who possess certificates/qualifications from any of the professional societies (such as The Institution of Engineers (India) (IE), The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), The Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI), The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, including Polymer and Environmental Group (IIChemE), The Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), The Indian Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), etc.)

CCMN 2026 Fees Type

Students can check fees in CCMN counselling process from the below given table: The details of fees provided here are based on previous year so all these amounts are expected for year 2026. So, it is advised that students should go to website on weekly basis.

Special Round (SR) Registration

If the candidate wishes to participate in the Special Rounds of CCMN, a fresh registration along with the payment of Non-refundable registration fee is mandatory (Special Rounds 1, and 2). INR 3,500/- for GEN/ GEN-EWS/OBC
INR 3,000/- for SC/ST/PwD
SR Participation Fee Fee to be deposited during the registration of special round along with the SR registration fee.
This will be a part of the institute fee and will be adjusted against the finally allotted institute’s admission fee. (If a candidate has already paid SAF and PAF in regular rounds then that fee will be adjusted towards SR participation fee. If a candidate has only paid SAF during regular rounds but not paid PAF then difference of SR participation fee and
SAF will have to be deposited)

NSR Participation Fee Fee to be deposited during the registration of National Spot Round along with the NSR registration fee.

(If a candidate has already paid SAF and PAF / SR participation fee in previous rounds then that fee will be adjusted towards NSR participation fee. If a candidate has only paid SAF during regular rounds but not paid PAF then difference of NSR participation fee and SAF will have to be

CCMN 2026 Major Events

The major events of the CCMN 2026 counselling can be categorised as follows:

  • Candidates have to apply online by filling in the required details and paying the registration fee. Upon successful registration, they will receive the login credentials and have to log in to the CCMN 2026 website and exercise the choice-filling option.
  • Based on the candidates’ choices and their score and ranks in JAM, Seat Allotment Orders will be released by the exam authorities. Candidates will have to lock the allotted seat by uploading documents and paying the requisite application fee. In case they are not satisfied with the allotted seats, they may opt for Change in Willingness or Withdrawal.
  • The institutes participating in the CCMN 2026 will verify the candidates' documents. If any discrepancy is found, the students will be contacted for the clarification. They need to answer the queries online on the CCMN portal.
  • The number of counselling stages will depend on how many seats remain vacant. It is likely that there will be 3 online counselling rounds and 2 special counselling rounds
    After the seats get allotted to candidates, they need to complete the admission formalities. They should visit the institute for payment of remaining admission fees and physical document verification.

CCMN 2026 counselling process

The first round of seat allotment is anticipated to be released around the second week of June 2026, followed by Round 2 towards the end of June, and Round 3 in early July 2026. If applicable, special (or national spot round)s may be held, if applicable, for vacant seats sometime between mid-July and August 2026. The overall counselling process includes registration, payment of the fees, filling of the choice of courses or institutions, seat allotment, document upload then verification with final step of reporting to the allotted institute. CCMN does not conduct a separate examination as admissions will based on individual results of IIT JAM 2026 examination. Final results and confirmation of seats will be conducted in August 2026.The CCMN 2026 counselling will be conducted for a total of 2300 seats offered across 26 participating institutes.

Q:   When will the application process of CCMN 2026 start?
A: 

CCMN Application form for the counselling process will be out in the fourth week of May 2026, tentatively. Students who will appear for the IIT JAM 2026 examination and wishes to take admissions in the MSc/ MSc Tech degree porgrammes offered at NITs, IIEST Shibpur and some CFTI institutes need to fill out the CCMN 2026 online application cum counselling form.

Students are advised to read this brochure carefully and visit the CCMN website regularly for all the updates regarding the counselling process.

Q:   If I apply for CCMN and fail to secure the minimum marks, will my registration fee be returned?
A: 

No. The Registration fee of CCMN is non-refundable. If applicants do not secure the minimum marks/CGPA, their seat allotment would be cancelled even if they are provisionally admitted to a specific institute.

Hence students are advised to ensure that they are fulfilling all the necessary parameters before filling the CCMN 2026 application form.
