Act Number 28 of the State Government established Telangana University, [TU] Nizamabad in 2006. In Telangana State, it is the third-the largest university. Among the state's recently established universities, Telangana University is the first to introduce a Ph.D. programme covering 13 different fields. The TU boasts three expansive and distinct campuses. It has a "B" grade from the NAAC and is accredited.

Telangana University offers BSc programme through its affiliated colleges as Government Arts and Science College, Kamareddy,  Sri Chandra Degree College, etc. The duration of BSc programme is of three years. The course is offered under multiple specialisations as Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Fisheries, Chemistry, etc.
