IIT Patna offers BSc (Hons), BS and BS-MS via its Centre for Educational Techology. The institute accepts CUET score for the BSc programme. To get admission to the BSc programme at IIT Patna the aspiring candidates need to have a minimum of 60% in class 12. They also can get admission based on national/ state-level entrance exams (i.e., JEE (Advanced/Main), NEET, BITSAT, KVPY/NTSE/INSPIRE scholarship.

The total tuition fee for MTech is INR 80,000 at IIT Patna. This fee only includes tuition fee for the course. It does not include the mess or the hostel fee. The above-mentioned fees is taken from an official source/sanctioning body. Hence, it may vary.

Yes, it is possible to join IIT Patna without JEE Advanced for courses other than BTech. For BTech programme, JEE Main, followed by JEE Advanced, is compulsory for admission. Other than BTech, the institute GATE for M.Tech, followed by COAP counselling and IIT JAM for MSc.

IIT Patna admission to BTech and BTech Dual Degree courses is completely based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores. The seats are allotted via JoSAA Counselling. For other courses, such as MTech and MSc, admission is based on GATE and IIT JAM scores, respectively. Aspirants can provide UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE and other scores for admission in PhD or appear for written test and PI round conducted by the institute.

No, there is no provision of a student studying free at IIT Patna as per the official website. However, IIT Patna provides a range of Merit-Cum-Means scholarships to meritorious and needy students. Any UG (BTech) student or MSc student can receive these scholarships. The criteria to receive is that the annual income of a student's parents/ guardian/ family from all sources in the preceding financial year must not be more than INR 4.50 lakh. Category-wise eligibility criteria and the way in which the scholarship is offered is as follows:

No, direct admission to the programmes offered at IIT Patna is not possible. For admission to the BTech programmes the aspirng candidates need to have JEE Main along with JEE Advance. For admission to the M.Tech programmes the aspirng candidates need to have GATE exam scores.

NIT Durgapur and NIT Patna offer Integrated MSc course lasting five years. The total tution fee for the five-year programme at NIT Durgapur is INR 75,000. The tuition fee for the Integrated MSc programme at NIT Patna is INR 6.25 Lacs for five years. Hence, it can be said that NIT Durgapur is more economical than NIT Patna for the Integrated MSc course. It must be noted that the mentioned fees are sourced from the official websites of the instituttes/sanctioning bodies. They are still subject to change and hence, are indicative.

IASINDIA situated at Bihar and CIMAGE College situated at Bihar also have the same scenario of placements. The college offers 85 % placement for CSE& IT students starting package from INR 4-6 Lacs to the highest INR 10 Lacs student get placed with HDFC, ICICI, Axis Bank, Tata etc. On the other hand, CIMAGE College has the facility of 80-90% placement, average salary package of Rs 3.5-5.5 Lacs per year and the highest salary reached up to Rs 8 Lacs per year and the list of companies are IBM, Wipro, HCL and Accenture.
