For m.tech in petrolium engineering the eligibility criteria is b.tech/b.e degree with a first class or minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (55% marks or 5.5 CPI for SC/ST students) in any one of the following disciplines from any AICTE approved Institute, State/Central University or Institute created under an Act of Parliament: Petroleum Engineering. but for the admission in petroleum engineering(m.tech) you must have to go through GATE. mostly institute decide admission according to GATE score & also asked for the personal interview.

As per the rankings, PEC is the best option. PEC has placed a total of 314 students in 2019 with an average CTC of INR 4 LPA. While the highest CTC is INR 10 LPA. The major difference between both colleges is NIRF ranking of PEC. PEC has secured 76th rank in engineering category by NIRF India 2019.

Hi,
Your rank is less but yes you can try for the NITs there are less chances for admission in NIT, but you might get a seat in CSAB special spot round.
